JoJuGo

Here are a couple of other suggestions that have solved this issue:

Turn off user account control (UAC) and make sure you are running as an administrator.

If you are installing DNS on top of an existing installation then you need to completely remove the old installation first using a DNS removal tool. If turning off UAC does not solve your problem and you have indeed installed on top of another version then let us know and I can give you a link to the removal tools.

Best wishes
Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

thanks for the quick reply. I turned the User Account Control and tried another installation of visual c++. No luck.

And this is the first Dragon Software I am installing on this computer.

Anyways it was worth the try.

Best,
JoJuGo

Hi JoJuJo

I just noticed on your hardware specifications that you are running a processor that uses the SSE instruction set where the minimum required, unfortunately I am afraid to say, is SSE2 according to Nuance specifications. If you want to observe the technical differences then see the following:

http://softpixel.com/~cwright/programming/simd/sse2.php

See specifications for DNS at the following link

http://www.nuance.com/for-business/by-pr...emium/index.htm

When you click the above link you will then need to click on "tech specs" and see the text in bold. Sorry to say but it looks like this is your problem.

Best wishes

Thanks again Lindsay,

just to be sure I ran CPU-Z and it gives me the following information on SSE:

Instructions sets: MMX, SSE, SSE2, SSE3, VT-X

So I thought this is enough for DNS11 since it mentions SSE2 and SSE3? Can you clarify?

Best,
JoJuGo

Lindsay, I think the T2300 supports SSE2 and SSE3 as well. Or is this amateurish to suppose that "CPU World" has got it right?

Apologies gentleman, I just went by this spec you listed above (which I didn't read properly )and did not check! You could try the following solutions which were applicable to version 10 with this particular problem.

As the download for solutions 3 & 4 are supposed the beef for NaturallySpeaking 10 I would tend to stop after you have tried solution 2 which is the most likely. With Windows 7 you need to choose selective Startup and then remove the cheque from "Load Startup items".

Hello everyone, hello Lindsay,

once again thanks for all your efforts. Unfortunately also the steps mentioned in your last reply did not work. By now I also got an answer from the nuance service, which I include here for transparency purposes. And maybe it helps someone with a similar problem. I tried these steps too and it did not work. I will keep you up to date if some other option works. If you have other ideas I am happy to try them.

Thanks!

----

"Thank you for contacting Nuance Technical Support. This email is regarding the issue installing that you were encountering with Dragon.

Please uninstall the current version of your program, from add/remove Programs in the control panel and the also with the remover tool included in the email.

There are some steps that will improve the installation.
1. Change the DEP settings
2. Switch off: Start up
3. Switch off the non-essential Windows Services
4. Switch off: Firewall and Antivirus software

1. In the Control panel choose: Category: (small icons) > Click on System > Click on Advanced System Settings > Click on Advanced > Click on Settings in the performance section > Click the tab: Data Execution Prevention > Ensure that is selected: Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only.
2. Write MSCONFIG in the Run-menu and give enter. The Run-menu appears when you select the Windows key + R on the keyboard. To switch off the start up items: choose the tab start up and Click: Disable All. Do not re-start the computer yet.
3. To switch off the non-Microsoft Services: Choose the tab Services and Click: Hide all Microsoft Services. Click on Disable for the remaining services. Restart the computer now.

4. Switch all Antivirus software and Firewall software off.

If you reinstall under these circumstances the program should install. Do not forget the switch the start up items back on. See point 3 and 4. "

Hallo JoJuGo,

Was braucht man ? 2 PCs weiter nichts...

Sebastian

#29 RE: Probleme mit der Visual C++ Runtime Zitat · Antworten

Hallo nochmal, Hallo SebS
